The Inverell Visitors Centre is located in Campbell Street, Inverell. The Centre is open seven days per week: Monday to Friday: 9am to 5pm. Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays: 9am - 2pm. Closed Christmas Day. The Inverell Visitors Centre is housed in an old bowling club. It was moved to this location in July 2003, as the old centre became too small. The new and exciting Centre has a huge photographic display together with many brochures on the Local District spreading out to all of N.S.W. and Queensland. Video viewing is available and the Centre boasts a Mining Museum, showing the District's proud mining history. There are not only local gems that are on display, but beautiful specimens from around the world. You will be surprised at what comes out of the ground! Some local produce is available together with a wide collection of souvenirs. |

The Visitor Centre Complex also houses a Cafe, Restaurant and Function area, and Billabong Blue Sapphires. Some of the facilities include: * Access without assistance for the disabled * Public Toilet * Public Telephone * Cafe * Car Park * Shop * Coach Parking * Toilet facilities for the disabled * Conference/Convention facilities * Visitor Information Centre * Parking for the disabled * Internet Access The new Visitor Centre was designed by Tim Russell and constructed locally here in Inverell including the landscaped gardens. The gardens by the river are used for many occassions weddings, concerts, entertainment, photography, formal events and fireworks. The Riverside Restuarant is a must visit with spectactular views of the gardens and the McIntyre River. Once an old bowling green now a highlight of Inverell open 7 days and serving great coffees and meals with a warm friendly smile you would only expect to see in the country. |

One of the newest editions to the newly refurbished Visitor Centre is the tourist display board that displays a map of the area and highlights places where visitors can fish, camp, drive or have a picnic. The display also includes visitor information on Copeton Waters State Park and Lake Inverell and next to the display board are guide brochures available for both locals and visitors. The magnificant National Parks are a big tourist attraction for Inverell and are world-class with both our Rangers and Field Staff taking pride in looking after them.
