Grafton to Inverell Cycling Classic

The running of Australia’s toughest one day race will see cyclists tackle the 228km journey along the Gwydir Highway from Grafton, through Glen Innes and sprint for the finish line in Inverell.

Inverell Sapphire City Festival

The Festival  is held annually in October and has always been a community based committee.  The Festival in a not for profit group and is sponsored each year to allow the Committee to offer great entertainment for the community to enjoy.

 The  members represent the community – holding events that are staged throughout the month of October to attracts locals and visitors alike to enjoy free or low cost events.

Also many members represent their own organisation which hold events/activities as well during the Festival Period.  This allows a diverse group of people to be involved in what happens each year.

Piano Concert


A concert of piano music for 4 hands on 2 pianos, 4 hands on one piano and 6 hands on one piano.

DATE: Saturday, 6th May

TIME: 4 p.m. – 5.30 p.m.

PLACE: The Inverell Music Centre, Moore Street, Inverell

COST: $20 per adult, $5 per student (school age)

Refreshments provided at the end of the concert.

PIANISTS: Keiko Robertson, Barbara Wigg, Jennifer Hill

The music includes works by Handel, Grieg, Rachmaninoff, Mozart and Dvorak and others.

Proceeds from the concert will go towards the Inverell Music Centre

Sapphire City Markets

The Sapphire City Markets are held on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the Month in Campbell Park Inverell.

See a diverse range of stalls, from food and yummy treats, to crafts, plants and all things in between.

In inclement weather, the markets are held in Otho Street.

Inverell Medieval Festival

The Inverell Medieval Festival will be a full weekend of entertainment for the whole family.

Companie of Draco Routiers, a 14th century mercenary fighting team, the Companie Knights Bachelor 12th century team.

Medieval musicians.

Medieval Dress Parade, for Fairies (5 to 12 yrs) Medieval Maidens (13 to 18 yrs) and Medieval Ladies (19 and over) $5 to enter the parade.

There will be demonstrations, tournaments, static displays, food vendors, and a wide variety of stalls.

All Lords and Ladies are invited to come in medieval dress.

April 1st and 2nd at the Gilgai Hall and Oval.

Copeton Freshwater Swim 8th April

The Popular Copeton Freshwater Swim is back on the 8th of April.

5km, 2.5km, 1km & 500 metre courses are available to test your skill or just to take part.

The Inverell Farmer’s Markets are held on the 2nd Saturday of the month at 1 Swanbrook Rd.
