Great Inland Fishing Festival (Held annually in December)

The Great Inland Fishing Festival is a three day annual event held in December at the magnificent Copeton Dam and is based on a catch and release competition. Murray Cod is the main species targeted by anglers. Yellow Belly, Catfish and Redfin are also on offer, all of which are potentially the prize winning catch. The Festival offers cash prizes each day for a variety of categories as well as daily mystery prize draws. Joeys Kayaking Tours

Joeys Kayaking Tours

Joeys Adventure Tours offers a range of sensational kayaking tours on lakes and rivers around Inverell. The tours run 7 days a week but bookings are essential. Tours are a 8 to 9km paddle with a break half way. They are very relaxing with an abundance of bird-life to see. A drink and an energy bar are supplied. The cost is $25.00 per person. Morning tours are available between 6:30am and 9:00am. The tours take 2 to 3 hours depending on the fitness level of the participants. In the afternoons the tours operate from 4:00pm onwards. Returns in the dark are also possible under lights for the kayaks and canoes. Joeys Adventure Tours can also supply breakfast at the half way stop with coffee and tea, the cost for this tour is $35.00. Tours including full lunches or dinners cost $65.00 for a full 4 to 5 hour tour. This suits larger groups, family gatherings reunions or parties. All kayaks are sit on top single or double kayaks. Safety vests and paddles, sunscreen and guides are included. Tours suit all fitness levels and all age groups. For groups that have someone that may not be able to paddle there is an option of canoes with electric motor and guides available. This service also will suit smaller children and older people. Joeys Adventure Tours can cater for two people up to group sizes of 32 people. Larger groups of up to 45 people can be accommodated with three weeks notice.
