The Inverell Art Gallery is a community gallery, operated by the Inverell Art Society. It is open 5 days a week and holds varying styles of exhibitions throughout the year, featuring both local and visiting artists. The Inverell Art Society Competitive Exhibition is held each October and attracts exceptional artists from all around the country.

Wallangra Fossicking Area

Wallangra located north of Inverell has an area near the hall where you can hunt for Black Tourmaline in Quartz, once again this is a dry fossicking area.

Stannifer Creek Fossicking Area

Travelling south to Tingha you will drive into a sandy granite area. The area offers the opportunity to fossick for many different types of Quartz Crystals, including Clear, Smokey, Rutilated Quartz and Yellow Citrine. Visit the creek crossing at Stannifer to find these gems.

Staggy Creek Fossicking Area

The districts rich volcanic soils can offer other gems and minerals. One such gem, is the amazing Diamond found near Copeton Dam, the Staggy Creek Fossicking Area provides a site where you can look for the Diamonds together with Black Tourmaline and Quartz. This is a rough dry area 28km from Inverell, you can take your water or dry sieve.

Free designated sapphire fossicking site open to the public. Dont be afraid to get dirty, dress appropriately, take a hat and sunscreen and be prepared for a little work.

Nullamanna Fossicking Area

Billabong Blue Fossicking Park offers Creek Fossicking 7 days a week, own equipment required and tuition not included or try your luck at the Fossicking Park on a Sunday where equipment and tuition are provided. Bush camping is also available onsite, bookings required.
Bus tours and larger groups can be catered for.

Please ring ahead of time to ensure park is open. Fees apply.
